Tolani Alli is one of Nigeria’s best documentary photographers also known as ”THE HAT”. She is one who has dared to stand out and be a trailblazer in the photography and the imaging industry. The cancer survivor has proven over time, with her images as the personal photographer to the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Yemi Osibanjo that being good at your craft is not gender-based and anyone and everyone who pays attention to details in their craft and stays true to it can be the best at whatever it is that you do.
Tolani is a visionary that tells stories with every image she creates, she also is an alumni of the University of Michigan and started off her career in photography in 2010. Her work ethic is one to be admired and her skills as a photographer shows that her journey to greatness is inevitable. One thing about Tolani that amazes me is the write-ups after every picture she creates, she still takes her time to make sure the common man understands every image she creates with her writeups despite having a crazy schedule.
She is one person who is redefining the imaging and documentary photography industry in Nigeria. Tolani Alli has worked with amazing dignitaries in Nigeria such as the Former Governor of Oyo State amongst others. She’s a true visionary standing to change the narrative of the imaging industry and has raised the bar of photography in Nigeria amongst women.
