Fill light is responsible for exposing the details of a subject that fall in the shadows of the key light. The importance of fill lighting in photography is basically to fill in shadows, especially for portrait photographers. Photographers use it to expose the subject or object and bring out the details of the image, It helps expose the little details hidden in the shadows and this is because it is placed opposite to the key light.
