Learning Photography is a never-ending process and with being in the age of the internet, there’s so much information out there that it’s hard to know which delivers on quality and which is there for the views.
Based on personal research and a couple of years worth of watching and learning (You’re welcome in advance), here are four YouTube Channels that deliver on educative, fun, and insightful content.
- Peter McKinnon
Peter McKinnon is a Travel and Adventure Photographer, Canon Ambassador, and Photography Educator. Canadian by birth, husband and father; Peter started his YouTube channel in 2015 and has grown it to over 4.6 million followers today.
His videos vary from tutorials to pure motivational videos to straight on vlog that talks about his process and his views on photography and the entire creative process. Click here to visit his channel and click here to follow him on Instagram.
- Make Art Now
One of the blessings that the lock-down brought me was introducing me to Josh Yeo of the Make Art Now channel. His ability to blend together education and art is one I’m yet to see anywhere else. Josh is a filmmaker and an educator with a penchant for making filmmaking educative video and the last two years have seen him grow an audience of almost three hundred thousand subscribers.

- Potato Jet
Gene Nagata is a Potato. I won’t pretend to understand what it means when he puts “I Am A Potato” at the bottom of his videos but that doesn’t bleed into the quality of informative videos that Gene delivers.
A filmmaker at heart, Gene breaks down the latest equipment in the industry, creates comparison videos that pit various cameras against each other, and collaborates with experts in various fields just so the audience can get the best value both for their time and money. Visit his channel here.
- Adorama
Adorama is at its heart a photography eccentric organization. With photography and video equipment
merchandising website and an active channel that boasts of almost a million subscribers, the Adorama YouTube Channel hosts various photographers like Mark Wallace, Gavin Hoey, Daniel Norton amongst others, and a variety of content suitable for all level of photographers.
