The Getty Images Editorial Grants Program has for the last 15 years enabled Photo Journalist to tell unique stories that were of personal or global importance and this year, the grant is expanding its reach due to the Corona Virus Pandemic to allow 8 different photo journalists tell their unique stories about COVID 19 and its impacts from all over the globe.
Unlike before, this year’s grant has been structured to reward 8 photojournalist who tell the story of how their various cities and immediate communities are dealing with the hand COVID 19 has dealt them. In a statement by Getty Images, they said; “… this year’s Reportage Grants to offer eight awards of $5,000 each to photographers reporting stories related to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will give particular consideration to those working in their own cities or immediate regions….”
The Organizers implore that those hopeful of participating in the grant follow the laws laid down by their local and national authorities to curtail them either contracting or spreading the virus.
