Each of these two types of light has its separate ways in which they contribute to the beauty of your image. Natural light can be said to be the available light, such as that produced by sun or the moon while artificial lighting is produced or gotten by an alternate source, such as the studio strobe, speedlight, LED light, camera pop-up light.
Today our focus is on natural light and helpful tips in getting better lighting for your portrait.
- Use a reflector: the light might not circulate all around your subject but using a large floppy, silver coated screen to bounce light in front of your subject this allows you to capture more details.
- Use side lighting: directing your subject helps you harness and positioning for proper reflection illuminating your subject.
- Color advantage: the soft light at dawn and dusk gives two color variant, oranges and yellows. While you get blue light from the midday sun shining through the clouds.
