HOW LIGHTING AFFECTS PHOTOGRAPHY

Light in photography is determined by how light sources natural or artificial is used to create different effects on the subject. The position or angle and quality of light on the subject determine the result you get in your final image. Hence, the definition of photography meaning drawing with light. You can become a better photographer when you understand how well to harness the use of light and how to position your lighting to get wonderful images from your subject.

No matter the genre of photography you’re in to, be it portrait, documentary, or landscape, your lighting choice should be determined by your type of subject. For example, when shooting a fashion editorial the kind of light used would be different from when you are shooting a portrait picture where the distinctive feature of the person should be highlighted. so notwithstanding your genre of photography, you need to understand various tips in whatever genre you choose to function in. Just like you have different types of light you also have various styles and positions of lighting.
