No matter the genre of photography you’re in to, be it portrait, documentary, or landscape, your lighting choice should be determined by your type of subject. For example, when shooting a fashion editorial the kind of light used would be different from when you are shooting a portrait picture where the distinctive feature of the person should be highlighted. so notwithstanding your genre of photography, you need to understand various tips in whatever genre you choose to function in. Just like you have different types of light you also have various styles and positions of lighting.
