The rate at which technology has made phone photography easier is  mind-blowing. Before the invention of smartphones, it was extremely labor intensive to get a camera, snap a picture, edit using software installed on the computer etc. This process is usually cumbersome and time consuming, but with the advent of improved smartphones camera and easy to use editing software, taking pictures has been made easier.

HOW TO BECOME A GOOD PHONE PHOTOGRAPHER

  • Get A Good Smartphone: You need a very good phone that has high camera megapixels to help create quality images, such as the iPhone, Samsung, Infinix, Tenco etc. These are smartphones that have high camera resolution. With their flexibility, photographers are able to create sellable and industrial standard photo content for brands in their market space.
  • Use a Microfiber Cloth To Clean Your Lens: The majority of photographers use whatever material they find to clean the lens of their phone camera which at the end results in scratches on the face of the lens. When you clean your lens with a microfiber cloth, the tendency of having a foggy and dusty output on your image is minimal.
  • Use Of Gridlines: It is advisable to turn on the camera’s gridlines. The gridlines on your camera are also known as the “rule of thirds”. It’s a “photographic composition principle that says an image should be broken down into thirds, both horizontally and vertically, so you have nine parts in total” which have the image in a precise framing. Visit your camera settings to be able to turn on your gridlines.
  • Set The Focus On Your Camera: This also applies to DSLRs, before you start taking pictures kindly set your camera focus on your subject to have more details and sharpness on your image. Most smartphone cameras work on autofocus, in a situation where you have a moving subject, kindly tap where you want to focus on to have a clear and sharp photo.
  • Input Creativity: One key thing after having the required knowledge is to be versatile with your creativity, Always find a new perspective on what will improve and beautify your work. Most phone photos are taken straight or horizontally, taking photos from a unique view; an unexpected angle can make them more memorable. With that, you’re creating an illusion of depth or height with the subjects.
  • Use Natural Light or Add Extra Light: One major challenge of using a smartphone is that the flashlight is not always enough, especially when shooting in the dark. It’s hard to find a great smartphone photo that was taken with a flash. Most of the time, they make a photo look overexposed, negatively altering colors and making human subjects look washed out. So it is advisable that you use natural light.
