Photographers around the world always want to catch the perfect moment in terms of composition, framing, and timing, and in a bid to justify this things tend to overdo it, in the name of getting a perfect image. What most photographers need to understand is that sometimes less is more. A lot of times, the best pictures are the simple ones, you don’t have to impress or overscale your photography skills to prove a point.

In photography, “keep it simple” goes from the minimalist concept to the general advice of preserving a clean and beautiful image. Below are some tips on how to shoot simple, but impressive and beautiful images.

  •   STRONG COMPOSITION:  Photography relies on simple compositions, but this doesn’t mean that it should be boring. It also allows a lot of room for creativity. The idea is to keep all distracting and unnecessary details out of the photo, allowing all of the attention to be brought toward the concept, or subject of the photo.
  • UNDERSTAND COLOUR: Good use of coluor and interesting textures are both key elements in photography. The use of light to improve the texture and bring out the colours and contrast is important to any photographer. Your goal is to capture an image that the viewer can almost feel.
  • TELL A STORY: The aim of every image captured as a photographer is that it in itself tells a story to someone not in the scene of the capture. Your work is to make it relatable and in doing this the place of following all other rules to achieve amazing images is not left out.
