In the era of social media, there have been certain drawbacks to standing out as a creative and honing your craft as uniquely as possible and that is the theme of the 4th annual “Let There Be Light” masterclass organized by the folks at Yemi Kings Studios.
This year’s class will see the greats join Yemi Kings and for three days, dissect what it means to be a photographer in the 21st century and how to you create your own unique identity in a world filled with copycats. The emergence of the internet has made learning easy and there’s so much material out there that learning photography now is only three YouTube videos away (I mean the basic, there’s a lot more to learn but you get my drift) but with so much material in circulation, photographers become a composite of those they watch and emulate and never really tap into their own potential and that is where the need for this masterclass arises.
Joining Yemi Kings with the great Kelechi Amadi-Obi and T.Y Bello at the Grandeur Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos.
According to Kelechi Amadi-Obi;
In the few decades that I have spent doing what I love, I have picked up a lot of lessons, I have grown to be a unique Artist, found my Niche, and embraced my Identity… It has always gladdened my heart to share what I know with the next generation. But knowledge is only for those that are ready to learn. Together with @yemikingsstudios , my sister @tybello , I will be sharing so much about my journey as a creative. It’s time for a re-awakening. Join me as we change the narrative, and make history together.
