Zhiyun Tech is a leading member in the gimbal manufacturing community and the latest addition to their line up of gimbals proves why they are a force to reckon with. Meet the new Zhiyun Crane 2S, the successor to the Crane 2.
The Crane 2S is an improvement over the Crane 2. The new gimbal has a follow focus wheel that allows you pull focus and zoom when shooting on manual focus, it has a bigger weight capacity of 4.5kg, compared to the Crane 2’s 3.2kg, the new handle is made of carbon fibre compared to the metal handle of the Crane 2; this means the gimbal is lighter and more resistant to hot and cold temperatures.
The gimbal comes with three rechargeable batteries that offer about 12 hours of normal use and a new easy mount system that lets you easily set up the gimbal to shoot vertically or horizontally. It also features a 0.98″ LED display that shows the user what mode the gimbal is currently operating on.
Being a user of a Zhiyun gimbal myself (the Zhiyun Smooth 4), the Zhiyun brand name is now synonymous with quality. Their gimbals like the Weebill and Crane 3 are direct competitors to DJI’s Ronin S and Ronin SC and the Crane 2S is gearing up to be another hit in the cinematography market.
The Crane 2S launches today for a retail price of $599 ($649 with a tripod and extra batteries). You can learn more about the Crane 2S on the Zhiyun Website here.
