Yitschaq Abia is a Portrait photographer. He is a well traveled photographer. In this interview with Femi Akeusola, the graduate of International Relations revealed his journey into photography, his style and the challenges involved among other topics.
Who is Mr. Adore?
My name is Yitschaq Abia people found it a bit difficult pronouncing the name which lead to them calling me Adore. I cant really remember how it started.
How was growing up like?
Adventurous. My life has been filled with adventures and I have enjoyed every bit of it.
Tell us about your Educational background
I have a BA in International Relations
How did you fall in love with photography
I have always been a lover of art but I couldn’t express my love for it not until 2010 when I found photography
When did you decide to take it from being an hobby to a profession?
Immediately people started showing interest in my work
What type of photography do you do?
I am a portrait photographer
Why that type of photography?
Being able to pose my subject or direct them into achieving a certain look gives me joy
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Ultimately, from God and it comes when I am in a quiet place.
Any photographer you look up to?
I admire the works of Annie Leibovitz, Felix Kunze and Lindsay Adler.
So far what has been your highest point as a photographer?
I haven’t attained a highest point yet but I am sure God is taking me somewhere beyond human imagination
What challenges do you think photographers in Nigeria face
Photographers have challenges when it comes to pricing.
