Being a good photographer is far more than owning the best camera or having the best gears and knowing all the technicalities for imaging and photography. It also includes having an inherent quality that enables a photographer to see beauty in the most unexpected places and to capture beautiful images out of it. There are a number of qualities that photographers should have to help them improve their craft and skill.

  • Creativity and Imagination: A good photographer must have a very good creative and imaginative skill, must see the beauty in just the ordinary, and create a wonderful image from it. A photographer’s imaginative and creative skill with good composition is a key factor every photographer must have.
  • An Eye for Detail: A photographer must have a very keen eye for details to ensure that everything needed to achieve a nice image is achieved from the lighting, composition, subject, etc, and work together to achieve a nice image.
  • Passion: Another great quality a photographer must have is the passion for the job. Something should set you apart from other photographers and that is passion. when you’re passionate, you would always want to put in that extra effort and be the best.

There are some key elements that make up a good image to which a photographer must pay attention. They are:

– Lighting: It is no news that lighting is a key factor in photography and the importance cannot be over-emphasized when capturing images so as a good photographer you should and must understand the use and importance of lighting. – Storytelling: A photographer must be a good storyteller, the storytelling attribute is for your viewers to understand and engage with your images without having a narrator explain it to them.
