Ever since its announcement, the Canon R5 has been the most anticipated Camera of 2020 and recent reports have it that the R5 and the rumored EOS R6 would be announced together “on or around July 2nd.”
According to Canon Rumors (the site that first brought to light the existence of the R5), Both the EOS R5 and its lower-resolution little brother, the 20MP EOS R6, will be officially announced in less than a month’s times.
With the world easing back to some semblance of normalcy, the timing of this announcement is quite exciting as it was speculated that the Corona Virus was a reason for the delayed announcement and with Sony rumored to be announcing a new full frame camera (supposedly the Sony a7S III), there is ‘word on the street’ that Canon may announce both of these cameras at the perfect moment to take the wind out of Sony’s sails.
Whilst nothing is certain, all fingers are crossed as we expect Canon’s next move.
