Last week, Hasselblad started shipping the new Hasselblad 907X 50C medium format camera (its smallest medium format body currently), and right out of the box, the camera is styled after waist level viewfinder cameras from back in the day. The camera features a 50-megapixel medium format CMOS sensor and with the new update is capable of shooting 2.9K video at 30fps. Note that medium format cameras aren’t built for their video capabilities but for the richness in detail that their sensors offer with the 907x 50C reported able to capture 14 stops of dynamic range. In this video, Cinematographer and Photographer Sam McGhee discusses the new camera, its features and compares it to shooting with older film medium format camera.
The Hasselblad 907X 50C retails for $6,399 and can be purchased here on the Hasselblad store.
