It’s being a short while since the launch of Nikon’s D6 and the company has kept quiet and away from the spotlight but according to a fresh report from Nikon Rumors, the company is planning to release two new entry-level Z-mount mirrorless cameras before the end of 2020 and a “pro” level camera in early 2021.
The report which was published by Nikon Rumors was soon shortly followed by a publication by Nokishita that seemed to confirm the report by pointing out that Nikon has just registered two new cameras—N1929 and N1932—with a Russian certification authority.
If Nikon Rumors is right, these two cameras will be the so-called Nikon Z5 and Nikon Z30, entry-level cousins to the full-frame Nikon Z6 and the crop-sensor Nikon Z50. Both cameras should be released “within the next three months” based on both NR’s sources and the Nokishita report.
Currently, there are no specs or product photos to go by and no other details have been made available, but with an announcement expected in the next 30-90 days, its most certain that a couple details about both cameras would surface.
Earlier, there were reports that Nikon was planning to release two new full frame mirrorless cameras (Z6 and Z7) but with the disruption caused by the COVID 19 Pandemic, its unsure whether these cameras would be released this year or whether these are the Cameras Nikon Rumors speaks of as being slated for early 2021.
