Sony Middle East & Africa are set to host the first ever cinema line launch event and exhibition in Lagos, Nigeria.
Interestingly, Sony has been in the game for a long time, since the 80s producing many breakthroughs in digital imaging but somehow in this part of the world, they let their competitors enter the market in full force. Now finally seeing the need to interact African market and the huge potential that Nigeria and the Nigerian filmmakers have to offer, they now seem to be playing catch up in the Nigerian film space.
Sony provides quality information, about their gear such that photographers can make good decisions about their Sony gears. Many photographers however think that Sony cameras are expensive and believe that if Sony is able to produce more affordable gear with the same super technology more photographers and videographers might start shooting with Sony.
While Sony’s invite reads, “Come and experience the powerful cinema production technology Sony has to offer featuring hands-on demonstrations, in-depth product presentations, and discussions with Sony experts,” the question on the lips of photographers, and videographers, however, is: ‘Will Sony have solutions to our concerns at this event?’
