Lagos Fashion and Design Week begins today with virtual classes, and not being able to attend the onsite events which start on Friday in person, is a bummer on my soul and heart. The street styles and runway shows portray the rich fashion and cultural style sense we had as Nigerians and it’s always great to see Denola Grey (I love that man and in some parallel universe, I know he loves me too).
This Year, the LFDW celebrates its 10th Anniversary (technically 11th but y’all remember the Pandemic of last year and the halt on all social gatherings? Technicality Explained), and to celebrate, I thought it would be fun to look at some of the images from previous iterations of the event and reminisce about the good times when we could play dress up and not need to accessorize with a face mask. Here are some of my favorite images from Lagos Fashion Week past.
