The latest addition to the DJI line up is the DJI Air 3. Featuring a two camera setup, the Air 3 seems to b keeping up with the multi camera set up that the brand has adopted in her latest line up of Mavic drones.
The new Air 3 features a 24mm f/1.7 wide angle camera system and a 70mm f/2.8 telephoto lens system that both capture 48 megapixel RAW photos and is backed by a 1 inch sensor (unlike the micro four third sensor that’s found on the Mavic 3 systems). The Air 3 is capable of 4K HDR video at 60fps (one would expect 4K 120fps since even the Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro drones do 4K 60fps but I guess the upside is the better, bigger sensor that the Air 3 comes with).
The drone also features a full 360 obstacle avoidance system that ensures that whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned pilot, crashing the drone would be difficult. The Air 3 comes with DJI new O4 transmission system that guarantees 20km full HD video transmission (that’s in best circumstances but in busy cities with transmission towers and stuff, you’re looking at maybe 5-10km at best). The improved battery life on the Air 3 also means you get over 40 minutes of flight time (well 46 minutes according to the DJI website).
The Air 3 also capable of the standard stuffs like time-lapse, hyper-lapse, long exposure, subject tracking, an advanced return to home function, a new remote controller amongst others. The standard pack of the Air 3 with the standard Remote Controller cost $1,099 while the Combo pack (with multiple batteries and extra propellers) cost $1,399.
