Post Launch, Canon has been getting a lot of heat due to the suppose overheating problem with regards the new EOS R5 that was launched last week Thursday. According to a document that was leaked online, the new R5 will record 8K for approximately 20 minutes before the systems start to overheat and this has cause a mini uproar online.
With regards overheating, It was obvious from the go that while recording at 8K and 4K 120fps/60fps, there was going to be some overheating issues but since there was very limited hand tests done by reviewers, all we could go by was Canon’s word and so far, the company has been straight forward about the camera’s capabilities. In a document reportedly from Canon UK, there are outright pegs on what the camera can accomplish at various record modes.
