This year, Apple launched 4 different iPhone 12 starting from the 12 mini, all the way to the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and whilst it’s easy to simply peak the 12 Pro Max as the best of the lot (which it supposedly is) when it comes to the photographic prowess, does the 12 Pro Max supersede the iPhone 12 Pro by a lot?
Straight off the back, it is important to note that the iPhone 12 Pro Max comes with a new, bigger sensor that is shift enabled to give the phone an extra level of stabilization whilst also utilizing more light to produce extra levels of detail in your images but according to Peter McKinnon (Photographer, Filmmaker, YouTuber), there isn’t a significant jump in quality when using the new 12 Pro Max over the 12 Pro. The sensor-shift does allow for shorter night mode images and more stable shots even when handheld but since most of the end result is computerized, there’s not much that the 12 Pro Max does that the 12 Pro cannot do.
