IRIX over time has developed a reputation for creating affordable but excellent cine lenses. Fleshing out their set of focal lengths, they have now released the 30mm T1.5.
One significant growth in the photography industry over the decade has been the increase of lens manufacturers. Not only has it opened up the number of options available for each type of lens you might be looking for, but there has been a lot of innovation from these brands too.
One such brand has been IRIX who has become known for creating strong cinema lenses. There has been a gap that some cinematographers have hoped would be filled and IRIX has duly obliged. The IRIX 30mm T1.5 Cine Lens joins the 45mm T1.5 and the 15mm T2.6 Cine lenses, with then a jump to the 150mm T3.0 Macro 1:1 . The 45mm and 15mm lenses have been well-received in particular, and this prime between the two could make a set of IRIX lenses a viable option, particularly for cinematographers on a budget.
The image quality and character to the 30mm are both of high order.
