Anyone who knows me knows I’m not the biggest Nikon fan (except for the D850. That DSLR can get it anytime and anywhere) but the recently introduced Nikon Z fc is aa APS-C sensor, mirrorless camera that Nikon introduced to lure entry level photographers into the Nikon ecosystem and quite frankly… I’m loving it.
The Zfc blends old and new effortlessly with a retro design that is reminiscent of vintage film cameras and a modern internals that does everything from shoot 4K Video to a flip out screen for vlogging and vari angled shooting. The design of the Zfc was targeted at youngsters and its working (I’ve never wanted a Nikon this bad ever and that’s saying something.)
The Zfc spots a 21.5 megapixel APS-C sensor capable of shooting 4K/30fps or Full HD (1080/120fps) so if you’re looking at starting a vlogging career this is the camera to get. Its also great for creating images with a mechanical dial for controlling shutter speed, ISO and exposure bracket system.
The great thing about this is the camera cost under a thousand dollars (approximately $960) but if you’re looking to buy Nikon Z lenses, be prepared to spend a couple of extra hundred dollars. For the newbies looking at just starting out, the Nikon Zfc is a great choice to start at and since it’s mirrorless, you can be sure it would receive updates that better its functionality in the coming months.
