Camera accessories maker Tilta over the weekend announced that it would soon be releasing a cooling system and filmmakers rig for the recently launched Canon EOS R5 that would mitigate its overheating problem.

In a post on their website, Tilta showcased the cooling system alongside a rig designed for the R5 that is geared at helping filmmakers get the best out of the R5’s video capabilities without having to worry about the overheating problem.

The announcement reads; “Created to extend recording times and help mitigate overheating, this easily installed module combines a fan, heat sink and temperature sensor [that] will activate as needed, and can be removed with ease”

While it is unclear when the products will launch, it seems the guys at Tilta have had their hands on the R5 for a while. The cooling system would definitely help extend the recording time whilst shooting 8K video and 4K at 120fps and is gearing up to be a huge success with Canon filmmakers.
