The growth the Nigerian photo and film industry has witnessed in the last hast half decade is somewhat unbelievable and we haven’t even tapped past the past the western region of the country. Lagos state still hold somewhat of a monopoly on the entertainment industry in Nigeria but with spaces like YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, etc., there’s so much the outside world can learn and experience about the Nigerian photo/film industry that waiting on Nollywood only to deliver would have meant years.

Spearheading this initiative are various groups of creatives, taking on various industries in Nigeria and showing the world can we can deliver the same (if not better) quality of content to entertain and educate the public. Leading the wave in the film industry are the following creatives;

Tayo Aina; The O.G Nigerian filmmaker YouTuber, Tayo has seen it all, Tayo has done it all. According to him, his goal is “to tell stories about people, places, and myself” He aims to evoke emotion with every video he makes and he has made a lot of video. With well over half a million subscribers on YouTube, Tayo leads the Nigerian YouTube market. He’s transitioned from making just filmmaking educative content to making videos around the entertainment industry and the ‘usual’ influencer type of content but in wise words; Tayo walked so other YouTubers could fly. Daniel Ehimen; Daniel Ehimen is a D.O.P, Colorist and Director. He has worked a bunch of films (When Love Happens Again, Coming From Insanity, etc.) and various ads for companies like YouTube, Campari, Nivea, etc. Daniel leads pi Image, a production company and the name of his YouTube channel.
