Just a couple of weeks after unveiling the 50mm f/2.8 2x Macro Lens for Micro Four Thirds camera, Venus Optics, makers of Laowa lenses have unveiled a new 11mm f/4.5 Ultra Wide Angle Lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras.
The lens which is currently aimed at Landscape, Architecture, and Travel photographers is fully manual focus and consists of 14 different elements in 10 groups. Two of those elements are aspherical and another three are extra-low dispersion elements and combined, they try to eliminate distortion that is found in ultra wide angle lenses and also reduce chromatic aberration.
Venus Optics have provided some sample images;
The lens is available for Leica M, Sony E, Nikon Z and Leica/Panasonic/Sigma L mount. It is available for $700 while the Leica M option is available for $800. Pre-orders are open on the Venus Optics website with the first batch of lenses expected to ship in mid-September.
