I just finished the Marvel What If series very recently and the premise of the series explored alternate realities that were different from the Canon universe we are used to (the one where Thanos lost and Iron Man died…. If you don’t watch Marvel movies just skip this first paragraph and don’t talk to me if we meet in person) and I immediately reached out to my friend Victor on a similar project he was working on involving Movie characters.

We had Interviewed Victor Eyo last year in our Beginners Spotlight segments (click here to read that interview) and gotten to know his process and inspiration. Victor is primarily a landscape photographer and a student of the Arthur Jarvis University in Cross River State where most of his images are shot. And in his alternate universe, animated characters like Coco, Tom and Jerry, Rick and Morty, and more roam the streets just like every other person and do the exploits we’re so used to seeing on TV.

On what inspired the series, Victor said;

“I wanted to see how best I could blend what was unreal with reality, a mix of fantasy and reality that portrayed an alternate reality of what our world would look like if we lived amongst some of our favorite animation characters. Having these characters in mind made me change the way I viewed the world. I kept asking myself how would they interact with their surroundings and with that in mind, I sought out ways to best capture the world as though these characters already existed in them.It is very challenging but I’d be honest, It is also a lot of fun”

The attention to detail in his work is astounding and the way the characters fit into the images he captures will leave you stunned. Every character fits perfectly in place and the image isn’t at all out of place. Below are some of the alternate realities he has created:

Tom and Jerry chasing Themselves through Marina Resort Calabar
Aladdin and Jasmine enjoying a peaceful Flying Carpet Ride in the Countryside
Snow White plucking Not-Poisoned Apples
Coco, Cinderella and the Mice jamming to Ed Sheeran “Bad Habits”
Rick and Morty doing Rick and Morty stuff

You can find more of these on Victor’s Instagram page here. Leave us a comment stating which is your favorite image.
