Everyone seeks to express themselves. It’s a desire all humans have in common. We find a unique way to tell our stories, our fantasies, our experiences. A dancer moves to the rhythm of a song, expressing himself/herself in ways words will can’t convey, same illustration goes with musicians, and canvas artists. If we all expressed ourselves the same way, the world would be a boring place.
Why do I take portraits? Well, I guess you know the answer already. It is my way of expression. It is a way I get to tell people “look, this is how I feel inside”. I could use a thousand words but it’s nothing compared to the satisfaction and energy that flows through my veins after taking a portrait.
With every successful expression comes happiness, inner peace, and I will be living unfulfilled, if I don’t express myself through my portraits. These days, I’m venturing more past just portraiture into cinematography to get a better feel of all my art holds and more ways to express myself. It’s a nerve wrecking journey but there’s also so excitement that comes with the uncertainty and I guess that in itself is fuel for my drive.
