Why I Photograph; Segun Eyelade

I photograph because photography is in itself a form of “self feeling expression“. A way to pass on what I see, a way to create unique stories.
In a way, photography runs in my family; my mum was a photographer, I never knew until I got interested in photography, when I did, mum would tell me stories about her time in the Industry.

Photography makes me courageous, it’s reason why I major in documentary photography, I create photos to build my courage, in some way, every shutter click helps me overcome my fears in a practical way, also events photography aids me in my pursuit to learn about the difficulty in light setup and different ways to create good/standard images with ever changing subjects.

I love the art of composition because at a younger age, I loved to draw cartoons. Maybe someday, I’ll go into animation and use that to define my photography.
