For those of you interested in vlogging or starting a YouTube channel, it might interest you to know that you can create a really nice YouTube studio at home for less than $100(N38,715). In the video below, videographer, Kellan Rack shows you a step by step process of creating one.
Reck who is a filmmaker by profession, predominantly works as an editor and cinematographer for the Boston Red Sox baseball team. Therefore he knows about capturing good-quality footage with really good equipment, but in the video below, he explains that you don’t have to break the bank to create a good home studio for vlogging.
For the studio setup, Reck basically turned a corner desk shot with bad overhead lighting into something that looks and feels professional by him buying a cheap light, a lav mic, a little neon light for decoration, and some low-end sound panels that double as background decoration while dampening the echo in the room a bit.
The final look:
This is the most basic version. That’s how you keep the price so low. If you don’t mind spending a bit more money, you can buy one or two small LED panels or a couple of tube lights for accent lighting and really start to create some separation and depth.
It doesn’t have to cost a lot. An Aputure will cost you about $90(N34,844) or go for a NanLite PavoTube II 6C for $100 (N38,715). Any of them can be used for accent or practical lighting in your simple YouTube Studio, and they come in handy if you want to add a dash of colour to product shots.
If you would like to see the results Reck got with just $100(N38,315) worth of lighting and audio equipment, watch the video below.
